Matrix Botanica
Netherlands, 2013. Director Melanie Bonajo. 22min.
In Matrix Botanica, deities adorning ceremonial clothing made of flora and greenery meander in the woods carrying a message for us humans.
Of physical form, nature’s embodiment is expressed through the use of elements that constitute her own essence. Either as creature or as anthropomorphic entity, she is adorned with flowers and leaves, wheat and grass. To answer her call for emotional and mental re-connection, is to wrap ourselves with her leaves, to cover with her flowers and to don her luscious vegetation. Only then maybe we will recognise our interconnection.
