Pamela Church-Gibson

Pamela Church-Gibson is Reader in Cultural and Historical Studies at London College of Fashion where she set up the Fashion and Film MA programme in 2008. She has researched and written widely on the role of fashion and costume in film and has researched the links between film, fashion, fandom and the contemporary star system.

Pamela is the principal editor of the peer-reviewed journal Film, Fashion & Consumption and co-edited Fashion Cultures (Routledge, 2000) and More Dirty Looks: Gender, Pornography and Power (BFI, 2004). Her book Fashion & Celebrity Culture (Berg 2011) explores the complex new relationships within contemporary visual culture. She helped inaugurate The European Popular Culture Association, backed by the PCA in America in 2012.
